LITTLE ROCK - Two free seminars are scheduled for Saturday, July 10, in Little Rock for landowners to improve their property for wildlife.

The Witt Stephens Jr. Central Arkansas Nature Center will host identical sessions from 10:30 a.m. to noon and 1:30-3 p.m. Seating is limited; call the nature center office at 501-907-0636 to register to attend.

Wildlife biologists with the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission will discuss fall food plots, native plants, forest canopy openings, water resources and other topics. The biologists will be available to answer questions and for one-on-one talks. The seminar is designed for landowners with 40 acres or more to manage. Hunting clubs and individual property owners are invited to attend for ideas on wildlife habitat management.

The Nature Conservancy will be providing a presentation on controlled burning to benefit wildlife. The National Wild Turkey Federation also will be on hand to discuss general turkey biology and habitat management with a focus on the importance of nesting and brood habitat. The presentation will include practices on attracting wild turkeys to your land.

The Central Arkansas Nature Center is located within Riverfront Park in the River Market District of downtown Little Rock. Free parking is available along streets in the River Market District.

"Any people, anywhere, being inclined and having the power, have the right to rise up and shake off the existing government, and form a new one that suits them better. This is a most valuable and most sacred right - a right which we hope and believe is to liberate the world. Nor is this right confined to cases in which the whole people of an existing government may choose to exercise it. Any portion of such people that can, may revolutionize, and make their own, of so many of the territory as they inhabit."-Abe Lincoln
